Award-Winning Support Since 2010
What began as a warm space for a cup of tea has grown into a vital community hub providing support to hundreds of vulnerable people in Gravesend.
Due to being the only homeless charity in Kent that stayed open during Covid, we were awarded the Pandemic Hero Award (2020) and the Gravesham Civic and Community Award (2022). We were also invited to the Royal Garden Party for our outstanding work.

The reason our guests choose to come to the Hub
We treat everyone as important individuals and we build trust through the consistency of staff and volunteers.
The Hub provides a safe place for everyone to work together to achieve positive outcomes which benefits both the individual and the community.
I have volunteered at the Hub for many years, working mostly in our busy kitchen where we cook breakfasts for the clients, as well as providing drinks and toast. We also maintain the food stocks and storage, do the washing up etc. As well as enjoying working in a happy team with my fellow volunteers, it’s always rewarding to get to know the clients and share in their news, and sometimes their problems and successes. By being part of a marvellous team that genuinely cares about people who are going through difficult times, and which offers so much help and support, I have the satisfaction of feeling I’m helping to make a small difference in their lives and helping them to move on to better times.
I have been volunteering at the Hub for a number of years, loved every minute of it and found it very rewarding. It is always exciting as no two days ever are the same. I enjoy meeting people and helping to serve their needs, whether it be cooking breakfast, laundry, issuing clothes or just chatting..
Volunteering at the Gravesend Homeless Hub is something I genuinely love. I usually help by making teas and coffees and having a chat with the clients. It’s a friendly, welcoming and completely non-judgemental place, where everyone is treated with kindness and respect, and the other volunteers and the manager, Vicki, make it feel like a family.
